New exhibition - David Reeb, Tel Aviv’s Views

On Monday June 25 at 20:00 there will be the opening of the new exhibition - an one man show by David Reeb
Tel Aviv’s views.

From the very beginning of the nonviolent struggle against separation wall in Bil’in village, David Reeb takes part in the weekly demonstrations together with local people and Israeli and international activists. Week after week he films the events from the moment of departure from Tel Aviv to the end of the demonstration.
Twelve video documentaries will be screened in the exhibition, which were filmed between 2005-2007 during the demonstrations, together with 10 fluorescent screen prints*. The prints series was started in late nineties and continued with the very recent works from 2007.
Five of the prints were done after the photographs by Miki Kratzman.
*All the prints were printed at the Harel prints and publishing in Jaffa.

Screening - To pass an elephant through a needle’s eye

On Thursday June 21 at 20:30 there will be a screening of the film by Tamar Goldschmidt
To pass an elephant through a needle’s eye.

After the screening we will meet the director.

Tamar Goldschmidt’s film follows one Saturday morning at the Beit Ibba checkpoint, one of the checkpoints besieging the city of Nablus. Beit Ibba checkpoint is not exceptional. There are dozens more like it in the West Bank. They do not separate the state of Israel and the occupied territories but are placed deep within Palestinian territory, and have one purpose: to impose hardship on people’s lives, deny them freedom of movement, and imprison them in segregated, restricted territorial cells.
